At The Atlas Club we believe your mental health is just as important as your physical health. Although a lot of what we do is based around training in the gym, we know how important it is to get outside. Our founder, Joe Clapton said “My favourite type of cardio and mental reset is taking my dog out for a walk.”
There is scientific evidence that being outdoors triggers measurable changes inside your body, lowering stress hormones and reducing blood pressure.
You don't have to hike for hours to feel these benefits, maximum impact can happen after just 20 minutes, so even a lunchtime walk to the park can benefit your body and mind.
A UK study, involving 20,000 people, found that those who spent time every week in
greenery were significantly more likely to report good health and higher psychological well-being.

Healthy movement is about focusing on how your body feels as you move it, instead of how it looks, how many calories you’re burning, or how it will affect your body shape or size. It’s about moving in ways you enjoy and that enhance your well-being, and that move you towards that positive physical achievement.
